PROJECT OBJECTIVE: Enhancing libraries in South Asia.

PROJECT SUMMARY: SARID is involved in an educational initiative to enhance libraries
in South Asia. By making books & materials for higher education
more readily available, students & researchers in South Asia
will be better equipped to compete with their collegues around the
world.
The aim of this project is to make "access to information"
the common ground for collaboration between locals & expatriates
working to further educational opportunities for South Asians.
As a first project, SARID, in tandem with the Consulate General
of Pakistan in Boston, USA, has sponsored a group of graduate students
in the Boston area to collect books from local educational institutions
& to establish an efficient system of shipment & of distribution
in Pakistan.
