Dr. Rooshey Hasnain
Dr. Hasnain is Director of Cultural Diversity at the Institute for Community Inclusion, University of Massachusetts and Children’s Hospital, Boston, working on disability awareness and cultural diversity. She has been directlyinvolved with many individuals and their families from underserved, diverse communities, ethnic-based agencies and advocacy groups in Massachusetts. Dr. Hasnain serves as a board member on several diverse grassroots organizations. She completed her doctoral studies in Special Education examining post-school outcomes for young adults with disabilities and their families from culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds and has published in this area. Originally from Pakistan, Dr. Hasnain speaks Urdu fluently. Most recently, she has been actively involved in relief efforts for tsunami victims through the South Asia Research Institute for Policy and Development.
